In
Deuteronomy 33:18-19, Moses blessed the tribes of Zebulun and Issachar
together. The former was to rejoice in their going out and the latter to
rejoice in their tent. Both the needs of these tribes would be met abundantly.
Besides, they would be joyful in their worship as they drew others along to
make their sacrifices.
These
verses tell of the blessing of joy both in their going out and coming in. They
speak of fruitfulness in work and in rest, in their business as well as in
their worship. At work they would be successful in their undertakings. And in
worship they would gladly draw others along to offer righteous sacrifices.
Like them, how much we need the peace
of God to enjoy the blessings of life. At work, we need God's bountiful
providence to help us be successful in our undertakings. In life, we must offer
up righteous sacrifices to God. Also, like them, we need to learn to worship
God joyfully as well as making effort to draw others to join us in the worship
of our great God. These two verses can best be expressed in life by putting
Proverbs 3:4-5 into practice. We must trust in
the Lord with all our hearts and refuse to lean on our
own understanding. In everything we do, we must consider and acknowledge the LORD and He will direct and guide our paths.
